The Best Private Trips to Book in North Africa
From private tours in Morocco and adventures in the Sahara desert, to a sightseeing extravaganza along the Nile of Egypt, these are the Culture Trip itineraries you can book as a private trip with your favourite travel companions.
There’s plenty of pros for going private. Obviously it means you can keep the guest-list locked down, so you can enjoy memory-making travel experiences with only the ones you love most. It also allows for far greater flexibility on travel dates, group sizes (minimum of 4) and even age requirements. Epic Morocco
The diversity of Morocco is astounding, from its distinct collection of vibrant cities to its ever-changing landscapes. This 11-day itinerary is a pretty comprehensive tour of all things Morocco. It starts in Casablanca, where you’ll visit Africa’s largest mosque, before visiting the nearby blue city of Chefchaouen for a tour of its surreal cerulean streets. You’ll discover ancient Roman ruins en route to Fes, the Moroccan city that best captures the feel of old world North Africa. You’ll dine with a local family and soak up the atmosphere of the medina before heading out to the Sahara desert. Visit a rural Gnawa village on the way to our desert campsite, where we’ll sip wine and stargaze around the campfire, before getting up early for a sunrise camel hike. Then it’s up into the Atlas Mountains to explore epic gorges, rural Berber villages and stunning mountainside viewpoints. Our final destination? The pulsating streets of Marrakech. We’ll call in at the Unesco-listed Kasbah Ait-Ben-Haddou on the way, before having a guided street food tour and cooking class in Morocco’s most thrilling city.

Few destinations have an iconography as unmistakable as Egypt. Its ancient history and striking visuals have drawn visitors here for centuries, and booking a private trip with your besties offers the chance to share truly unforgettable travel memories with your favourite people. Our nine-day itinerary is a pretty definitive tour of Egypt, starting in the bustling capital, Cairo, where you’ll sip tea, haggle in the bazaar and have the chance to buy a personalised leather notebook at an old bookbinding store. In nearby Giza you’ll have a day you’ll never forget, visiting the Pyramids, the Sphinx and the brand new Grand Egyptian Museum. Then it’s time to trace the Nile south, first by sleeper train and then on a four-night luxury river cruise. You’ll discover Luxor, the Valley of the Kings and Aswan, taking the opportunity to visit tombs and temples, go souvenir shopping in bustling souks and even go kayaking along the Nile itself.
