1. Morton's The Steakhouse

Located downtown, this upscale steakhouse is within walking distance of several popular Nashville attractions, including multiple live music venues. With a spacious dining room and Bar 12.21, the restaurant is ideal for private functions, after-work cocktails, and special occasion dinners. On the menu is a variety of steak, seafood, and poultry dishes, as well as an extensive wine collection and decadent desserts. Signature specialties include braised beef short rib, shrimp scampi capellini, and chicken bianco.

2. Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse

With several locations in the U.S., this restaurant serves U.S.D.A. Prime steaks, seafood and sushi. Popular menu items include the Steak Collinsworth, Scottish Salmon, and Cowboy Steak. After-dinner drinks and desserts are also available, as well as several options for cigars, offered to customers as part of a collaboration with Nashville’s Uptown’s Smoke Shop and BLEND Bar. For those who want to take the goodness of Jeff Ruby’s into their own home, the restaurant sells its famous Steakhouse Seasoning, which is loaded with the ingredients that make the steakhouse’s specialties so unforgettable.

3. Jimmy Kelly's Steakhouse

When Jimmy Kelly founded this steakhouse in 1934, he promised himself and his customers that he would serve great steaks and whiskey, and make sure that customers received the attention they deserve. The restaurant is now housed in a Southern mansion in Nashville, offering a menu full of steaks, seafood, and sides. In keeping with Jimmy’s commitment to excellence, the restaurant ages its beef for at least 28 days before the steaks are hand-cut by the in-house butcher the day they are served.

4. Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Specializing in steak and seafood, this Nashville restaurant is a premier spot to enjoy a nice dinner and a glass of wine. Signature steaks like filet mignon and prime tomahawk are on the menu, along with Chilean sea bass, crab legs, and lobster mac and cheese. At the bar, guests will find a wide selection of locally selected wines, hand-crafted cocktails, and spirits. There is also a tasty selection of desserts to indulge in.

Taking a modern approach to steakhouse dining, this eatery serves steakhouse classics alongside farm-fresh dishes with ingredients sourced from local farmers and purveyors. Menu offerings include charred octopus, vegetable gnocchi, and Hudson Valley foie gras, as well as both classic and signature steak options. Guests have plenty of drinks to choose from, thanks to the expansive wine list, seasonal cocktails, and both domestic and international beers.

6. Sperry's

This restaurant was made famous as Nashville’s first salad bar. It opened in 1974 by two brothers and was named for Burton W. Sperry, the brothers’ great-grandfather. On the menu are dishes like rib-eye steak, blue-cheese-stuffed filet, and New York strip, all made from heavily aged marbled Western beef. Seafood offerings include salmon florentine, seared sashimi tuna, and BBQ shrimp and grits. All of the dressings, sauces, and soups used by the eatery are available for purchase at Sperry’s Mercantile, located behind the restaurant. Happy hour takes place during the week from 5 pm to 7 pm and features drink specials and appetizers for nibbling.

7. The Southern Steak & Oyster

As its name implies, this fine-dining establishment specializes in steak and oysters. Located in downtown Nashville, the restaurant, known locally as The Southern, has a state-of-the-art oyster bar that reflects its commitment to serving sustainable seafood and also features direct-sourced local beef cooked on a wood-fired grill. Customers can choose from several decadent menu selections and indulge in dishes like filet mignon with crispy fried onions and grilled asparagus or T-bone steak with garlic-whipped potatoes and sauteed Brussel sprouts. For daytime meals, The Southern also serves a variety of sandwiches, burgers, and salads.

8. Kayne Prime Steakhouse

The name of this steakhouse comes from the historic Kayne switch yard located in the area. Its origins are deeply rooted in traditional American steakhouse style but the menu incorporates modern interpretations of farm-to-table dishes. Some of these dishes include wagyu filet mignon, lamb shank, pork porterhouse, and Scottish salmon. In addition to classic steak and seafood offerings, there’s a dessert menu that features creations like pineapple hand pie and toasted banana bread. A variety of wines and spirits are also available.
