With an abundance of bars located right on the water’s edge, there’s no shortage of places in Antigua to watch the sun go down. Choose from mellow beach bars or buzzing marina hotspots, perfectly placed for yachting parties as they’re all accessible by boat. Come ashore and soak up the island atmosphere with a cocktail or a cold beer.

Make your way to these fabulous beaches by booking our eight-day skippered Sailing Trip.

Ana’s On The Beach

Two glasses of rum punch with lime slices and straws

With a relaxed island atmosphere, this beach bar is just steps from the shore. If you’re arriving by yacht, anchor in the bay and take your dinghy right up to Ana’s door. Lounge on long bench seats with brightly patterned throw cushions and sample drinks from the cocktail menu. Highlights include the freshly squeezed passion fruit sour and fruity rum punch.

West Point Bar & Lounge

If you’re looking for the best spot for a sundowner in Jolly Harbour, head to West Point Bar. This pint-sized drinking den is perfectly positioned on the harbor, and has an easygoing atmosphere that gets livelier after the sun goes down. With its enviable location, it’s no surprise that the bar gets busy. Soak up the buzz as the sun sinks below the horizon and watch the boats turn to silhouettes against the sky.

Beach Bum Bar & Cafe

Palm trees, picnic benches and sand underfoot – Beach Bum Bar & Cafe lives up to its name. This dreamy beach shack at Half Moon Bay is the place for a relaxed drink at the end of the day. Don’t expect elaborate cocktails or an extensive wine list. Instead, simply grab a beer, order some plantain and admire the view.

The Nest Beach Bar Antigua

So small you could easily miss it, this bar is a pastel-painted wooden hut with tables on the beach. Surrounded by lush forested hills, the laid-back location is made for sunset drinks. Grab a cold beer or cocktails – the piña colada is especially good. If you’re in the market for food, there’s coconut shrimp, conch fritters and other local favorites on offer.

Rum Bus Beach Bar

If you like your bars with direct access to the beach, Rum Bus Beach Bar is the place for you. Take a sip of one of the specialty rum cocktails and then go dip your toes in the ocean. This beach bar has cabanas and hammocks to rent, so you can watch the sunset while laying back and listening to the sweet sound of the waves.

Skullduggery Cafe

Besides the fantastic name, Skullduggery Cafe boasts an ideal waterfront location. This low-key bar is right on the marina, next to the yacht club at Falmouth Harbour. Unsurprisingly, it has become a popular spot among yacht owners, who go there for the laid-back, no-frills atmosphere and killer rum cocktails. In fact, Skullduggery takes rum so seriously that they’ve made their own signature blend, available to buy in ceramic skull bottles.

OJ’s Beach Bar and Restaurant

With undisturbed views of the ocean, OJ’s Beach Bar and Restaurant is a picturesque spot for drinks as the sun starts to go down. Choose from a table on the wooden deck or down on the sand and sample Antiguan rum cocktails. If you fancy something to eat while you’re there, OJ’s also has fresh seafood, burgers, ribs and other snack options.

Sandra’s Beach Shop Bar and Grill

If you’re looking for a relaxed beachfront bar from which to watch the sunset, Sandra’s is a great choice. The oceanside view is enhanced by a backdrop of leafy green hills bordering the beach. On top of a good cocktail menu and bar snacks, they also host karaoke nights and live concerts, making this a fun spot to party the night away.
